so instead of wiring them to your battery and using a relay or inline fuse or switch, can you just wire the positive to positive and negative to negative on your headlights? that way the wiring is much easier and all you need to do is possibly get a stronger fuse for the head lights? or will this cause problems?

Don't ever replace a fuse with a fuse of a higher current rating. The manufacturer selects the fuse rating to protect the wire by preventing too much current from running through it. If you run the fog lights off of the headlight circuit and put a larger fuse in, you run the chance of over loading the wires and causing them to melt down, and possibly catch fire.

So, to answer your question, no.

just wire them to the battery and use the parking lights as a switch. or pm asg14...he will tell you a better way to wire them then toyota could have done.
