3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So I rear ended a BMW a few weeks ago and I have not had much luck finding all the parts I need with the right matching color of my Camry. I have insurance but I didn't have collision on it so I'm on my own to fix it.
I can pickup a turn signal light from a local junk yard but the wiring harness that attaches to the turn signal is gone. And I'm having a lot of trouble finding this part. The bare wires shorted and blew out two fuses, but I replaced them, not that its going to help that much.
I need local junk yards in Central New Jersey that have toyota parts, but I called one in Rahway, South Amboy, and nobody has parts for Camry's. I need a Front passenger side fender, bumper, headlight, hood. And as common as this car is, nobody has parts, or at least they aren't in the color that I need it in. How much is it to paint parts?
Also, whats the part number, or where can I pick up this wiring harness for the turn signal?
get the harness from the same junkyard car you get the corner light from. you won't be able to order JUST that piece of harness - they'll only sell you a complete harness for the entire front end of the car.not cheap.
check ebay and www.car-part.com for body parts. looks like you'll need more than just fender there - looks like the unibody and core support took some damage too, and dont forget to check/replace the hood hinges as well - looks like the hood may have been shifted, bending the hinges.

you can buy brand new headlights for a lot less than that on ebay or even at autozone. they aren't genuine toyota parts, but so what? only catch is, the new one will be more clear than the other one. i have that problem on my miata - one front blinker got smashed, and i only replaced that one ($30 on ebay). the other one now looks kinda yellowed.

Lol, I think I take the cake in the most f'ed up Camry on this forum. This was the third time I've rear ended someone at a yield...
No big deal about one clear light and one unclear... as long as it can still pass inspection.
At this point both headlights will be aftermarket. Yes, the first collision took out the driver's side, the third was the passenger side. The second accident was right in the middle, did the least damage.
Well I installed the headlight and turn signal today. The odd thing is that my parking light is not on but the other side is... but it still works as a turn signal. How can this be? It flashes during a turn signal, but does not remain on when the parking lights are on.
The turn signal wiring harness did disappear after the accident so I had to pull the wiring harness from a junk car. I spliced them together w/ splices and a crimp. I'll have to redo all 3 wires then. BRB... I'll show a pic of what it looks like now, its not the best but better than before.
