Question Are these authentic TRD Springs?

I won a set of TRD springs on ebay, didn't think I would win since I only bid the starting price but I was kind of happy to get them cheap. This is the auction and I have received the springs today. The guy listed it as new and been in storage for the past 5 years with the TRD spring box.

But now that they're in my hands and closer look at them ... they look like OEM springs. There's also signs that they were installed with some paint rubbed off at the bottom and bits on the sides, so obviously not new as he listed. There are only pink and green paint spots on them and just plain black. The larger ones are about 14.5" tall and the smaller ones are about 14" tall.

Could I get some feedback from people who have bought, or seen, the TRD springs for Gen4 Camry?
Are these authentic TRD Springs or did I get ripped off?

Alright, an hour of internet searching later and I finally found good pictures of older '04 Celica TRD springs that are also black.

Those pictures show a white TRD badge printed on it along with the model number and "front/rear" denotation on them.

So is it safe to assume that I do indeed have OEM springs and not TRD springs since there are no TRD badge or anything else printed on them?

That'd be one hell of an assumption..

Maybe you should ask the seller why there's no TRD logos on them and that the springs aren't new? You can actually report it to Ebay if you don't get anything out of him. Believe me, this bloke will wanna make sure he's not ripping you off because his account can get some serious damage dealt to him.

mine were labeled in white when I got mine back in the days. same goes for Eibach springs.

try cleaning the springs you got first to confirm. and if they're not labeled, chances are they aren't TRD =\

You're right, I should give him the chance to explain things. This is the 3rd time I've had trouble, really hope this guy is honest and will resolve this without me having to go to eBay for judgment.

I have cleaned them and there is nothing printed to show it is TRD.
Looks like they really are OEM springs.

Well, if they ARE OEM springs, then I'd ask why he sold you something that hasn't got TRD markings? I mean, don't all TRD parts at least have the logo or symbol imprinted somewhere?

If he says "oh, these ones didn't ever come with them"... yeh, no worries... where's the proof to say that they're TRD? You can't trust anything on Ebay these days... just the fact that they're not even NEW would make me start 2nd guessing.

Tell him that if you don't receive some kind of proof within 48 hours for your purchase, you'll report the transaction to Ebay claiming that you weren't sold TRD springs and that they're not even NEW.

Good luck

those look like my stock springs. i remember i have pink and green paints on my spings too. and on my TRD springs.... i have TRD logo and part numbers on it.
go to car parts for sale section and look for eibach lowering springs and there is a picture of the springs and that look different than yours.

the only TRDs that had no markings for the cam/solara i think were the JDM TRDs for the gen3(even thoes may say it).

Thanks for all the confirmations.

I emailed the guy asking for proof that they are TRD springs and not OEM. But I'm pretty sure he can't prove it since it's obviously used OEM. Hopefully he's a good guy and refund me without making me escalate this.

Should had asked for more pictures before bidding, live and learn. Had a feeling it was too good to be true too.

Those are OEM springs, paint marks are for identifying front/back, as front and rear are of significantly same height.
