Question Where Get 12V in Engine Bay When Engine Runnin

HI ALL,

In the engine bay, I'd like to have a power supply of 12V when the car is running, and 0V when the engine stops.

Without opening the thing where all the wires pass (top firewall, passenger side, engine-bay): Where can I get that power ?

Where is the most easy place to hook up ? (My engine-bay is very messy with black oil due to rust-proofing many times in the long past ).

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Very little power for the Oxygen sensor heater-connected to a thermo-switch. The heater must be very small so the power needed is very small.

12V
Heater will run until the block is slightly warmed up (5-10 minutes for the thermal-switch to open)

Get the wiring diagram for the car-- may be on the 'net. There is usually a a main 12 v relay which powers the fuel injection and goes on with the key.

Thanks Tuck.

I ended up using a new Relay, placed next to the battery, then run a wire through the rectangular rubber grommet (passenger side, near right strut tower). To pass the wire, un-do the black taping then use a coat-hanger to pull the wire through.
