I'm going to do be doing a tune up sometime before this winter. I'm just trying to compile a list. Take to mind this car was extremely neglected. It had the original timing belt on at 148k, so it probably needs everything.

Wire set
PCV Valve
Distributor
Air Filter
Fuel Filter

is seafoam really going to improve anything on lower mileage (66k) cars too? i did some TB cleaning (used a can of TB & carb cleaner) last time, there was only lots of smoke right after and then everything was like before LOL

flush all fluids too...ALL. PS, tranny, brake, oil, and coolant.
I'm a bit scared doing this myself. The tranny, oil, and coolant I think I could do on my own. But I heard to do the power steering you have to watch it flow out, and add at the same time because you can't let air in. Sounds tricky.

PS is one of the more common problems on the camrys. flushing will help pevent problems later that WILL happen, but meeh...its not the most important and may not be necissary.
seafoam can be done whenever and is almost always a benifit.
but you said you wanted all that was involved...this is what we are recomending. take whatever advice you want..but a tune up is a tune up...as we see it. things like pcv valve and wires are things to replace when they go bad. nice to have juat in case...but "dont fix till its broke" kinda things.

I do want all that is involved, and I appreciate the advice. I didn't know I should flush any fluids.
I guess I was just asking which of those I could do on my own (Inexperienced guy. I just fix what I can by doing research, no real automotive background.)

understandable...flushing is tough by ones self. but detailed is detailed. the more important are the oil, tranny and coolant. even if ya cant do a full flush...a change will be a great benifit along with the other things youve listed.

I'll ask my uncle for help with the fluid flushes. The coolant in there right now is pretty new. Timing belt was done 500 miles ago.

at least spark plugs and wireset are both very easy on 5s-fe ... both take less than an hour. coolant flush is very easy even if you don't have jackstands to drain the engine block too. when you choose flushing with radiator drain only you can take a look here: Coolant flush: Do you remove engine block drain plug?
