3rd Generation Flat Spot at 1900RPM

Hi. mine is a 5sfe 92 auto tranny 111000mls. on acceleration when rpms are at 1800 - 1900 they stay there. i have to gas harder to make rpms to climb.
I've been not able to determine if that is on all gears. i have noticed on 1st and 2nd.
sparks and distributor are new.

when my miata did this, replacing the plug wires with new NGK wires made all the difference. then again, the miata is picky about plug wires. even bosch wires weren't as good or long lasting as the factory NGK wires.

camrys usually aren't as picky about wires though. also check to make sure the rotor was replaced with the dist.cap.

I just replaced my plugs and distro cap + rotor, because I was bored, I wasn't having any problems with it. The plugs were new, I just don't trust bosch, but the cap and rotor had 200k on them and had about a 1 mil gap that was connecting only through carbon buildup. No change in performance with the new cap.

I would check air flow first. Make sure that a rodent didn't try to make a home in your air box, and that there is sufficient pressure coming from the exhaust. If that is all good I think it would be wise to find out if you are getting a rich or lean condition in that flat spot.

i say unless the wires are permanently attached to the cap (they were on my 88's 3sfe, but i don't think they are on the 5sfe) then you really need to replace the wires, too. at minimum, put an ohm meter on them to check resistance. too high of resistance will cause the problem you describe.
