Canada Tap Water instead of Coolant

Are there any adverse effects of filling tap water instead of coolant?
(Little mileage, Just for a few days until my leak is fully sorted out.)

Water will give better cooling, but will freeze at 32 degrees F.

Tap water has impurities that can over time clog up a cooling system. This is why it is always suggested to mix DISTILLED water with concentrated anti-freeze.

If it is only for a very short time, you will probably be fine, just make sure to flush all of it out afterwords.

How much antifreeze is left in the system? If it's at least 10% you should be OK for a few weeks.

The antifreeze acts as a seal lubricant and has anti-corrosion additives. You don't want to 100% water because it will wear the water pump shaft seal faster, and you don't want to run a low percentage for very long because the anti-corrosion additives deposited on the metal surfaces will wear away.
