3rd Generation 5sfe Camry Full Exhaust/Headers???

Looking to wake up the ol 93 5sfe Camry with a full exhaust possibly headers. Does anyone know if 5sfe Celica headers will fit. Anyone have any suggestions, know of any good products, pipe dimensions etc. Not looking for anything real loud just wanna wake it up a bit and not draw much more attention being all loud. Any info appreciated. Thanks

i hate to for be the bearer of bad news but if you want a full exhaust and headers the car is gonna be loud. i suggest scrapping the headers, step up a 1/4 inch from factory exhaust piping and keep the resonator.

Depends on your definition of "wake up." If you mean make the car faster, just get a different car. If it means make it sound good and have a little extra throttle response, setup up a CAI or SRI, get a custom cat back, with your choice of muff. Headers are pretty damn loud!

Unbolt the downpipe from the header. That will wake you up, I guarantee it.

Ok! Wake the car up not the neighbors. lol. I think Id like to keep it legal maybe..... And Im pretty sure headers are out at this point. Anyone have any suggestions on mufflers that sound good but not too loud. I heard Magnaflows sound pretty good. I think I wanna go 2 inch cat back. Would that be about right?

agreed a catback system would be ya best choice. if you want ta stay quiet. and as far as muffler tips go magnaflow and flowmaster are cheap if your on a budget
BUT
1. be ready fa people ta be callin you a rice burner.
2. those two are more commonly on muscle cars but they will still give a deep sound... but still mainly fa muscle cars.
3. dont go cheap shop around you dont wanna lawn mower sound.

in my oppinion if you have a 2" exhaust system dont get a 4-4.5 in muffler/resignator delete (sorry for the spellin).

a full exhaust is fine, and unless you plan on doin a full exhaust(+ or - headers), id suggest just getting a muffler for sound. ive herd a 5s with headers and a full exhaust and it wasnt that bad. youll just have to make sure you have 1 or 2 good resonators to quiet it down and dont go real big on the piping.

i would stick with 2.25...nothing more. the most important thing would be to replace the stock cat with a highflow cat. get a free flowing muffler and a resonator would be a good choice. if ya do go with headers, then get the OBX ones for the gen4 camry. somone correct me if im wrong but i believe they requier NO modifcations to fit on the gen3.

The stock pipe on the 5s is 2". Go 2.25"! I had a magnaflow with the stock resonator and it sounded pretty good. The stock cat under the car is tiny so a highflow cat suggested by Bird would be nice.

I know its a fart can but hell idc i love it and i get complements on it everywhere i go cause it doesnt sound rice with rasp and bumble bee noises.

just go to k2motor.com if your interested. i picked up the muffler for $30 shipped. stainless steel apexi n1 styled. I did a slight "jdm" angle with my install. Its all stock piping, with res and cat still on. Next summer imma upgrade to a highflow cat and res with 2.25 stainless steel pipe and a new muffler (same one) but just to freshin up my system.

idk what kinda muffler you want. but just giving you an idea.

Chris

edit: aw this was when i was still almost stock. Still surprised to see how far my car has come in just one summer haha. =D

btw yes i know you can see my plates. but its not that big of a deal.

a tune wouldnt help anything on the 5s either. the only gains ive seen was with a full exhaust and it wont hurt anything(reguardless of tranny) cept sound and take some of your low end tq away. the gains still are not that great compared to the money then can be spent. id personally suggest a highflow cat and a resonated catback for sound.

since no one has corrected me thus far, then i see no reason to buy the celica headers which have to be modded to fit. just get the gen4 headers which(again some one correct me if im wrong) fit with little or no modding.
