Hey, just wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering buying Intrax lowering springs.
I bought INTRAX 75-1-005 for my ride to lower it 1.6" in the front and 1.5" in the back. Well, simply, the front springs are giving me problems. If you look in between my wheel well and the tire with a flashlight you can see where on both front springs coils are touching each other. This was discovered after I got the Intrax springs installed by a shop and I noticed a very audible creaking when I would turn the steering wheel or go over speed bumps.
I bought them through summitracing.com and haven't yet contacted them to see if they will send me a replacement or what, but frankly I can't afford right now to pay a shop again to get the front ones swapped anyways.
Again, you can actually see coils touching each other, even with just the weight of my engine bay and not any added weight.
The only thing the shop could figure is that they sent me the wrong front springs, which I don't believe to be the case. I was very careful about getting the right springs for my car.
The back ones are FINE, its just the front.
I'm sure there are many others that say they haven't had any problem with Intrax springs but I just wanted to put my problem out there to consider.
2. you need to come to one of our meets fellow MDer
3. thanks for the heads up. intrax has gotten mixed reviews around here but not really like this. is it possible to get a pic up of waht your talking about? some times spring coils do touch...but usually they will have a small sleve around a few of the coils that will to keep from rubbing the paint off.
Everything is stock except the springs and shocks. Shocks are Tokico HP. And I had contacted Tokico and confirmed that they would be appropriate for those springs.
They did look exactly like that JCamry. I'm not sure if they are the same as what Camryman97 is showing, I don't remember the rears having that many coils, but it's hard to tell in my photo how many coils are there. But the rears aren't giving me probs.
The front doesn't seem to be sitting too low at all. You can see in my sig pic and the other pics on my cardomain page how the car is sitting with the springs. It looks about right to me.
Bigbird, yeah I thought that looked funky to me too. I mean, I'm no expert, but I'd def say they shouldn't look like that.
I guess it would be, I've never had to deal with this before so my experience and knowledge in th is stuff is coming as I'm dealing with it.
I wasn't around when they were putting them on but the springs did come in bags that labeled them as front or rear, so unless they were sent to me already labeled wrong... I can't image the shop mixing them up, but never say never, right?
Is it even possible for them to go on the wrong side? I noticed that the shape of the tops and bottoms of each were different for the front and back. I would think that the springs wouldn't fit into the wrong shoe.

No they wouldn't fit properly into the perch!
I am with BigBird on this one I think they're 4 cyl springs. That pic I showed you is on NESQU!K's 4cyl camry's intrax springs.
If this was how you install your suspension then you did it the wrong way. the shock in this pic is the rear, and the springs are the front. Correct me if im wrong, but i know im not on this one.

Hmm, it looks upside down too! Haha no I just picked up a shock and a spring to take a pic. Didn't pay attention to which was which.
Bigbird, I did contact summitracing.com and they confirmed I ordered the right item number (Intrax 75-1-005) for the v6. Next I will contact Intrax and talk to them. The supplier didn't have it in stock so it came straight from the manufacturer. They might have screwed it up. The 4cyl model springs is only a number different (75-1-006).
