3rd Generation Need help retrieving ECM and ABS faults.

Alright gentlemen, its a n00b question, and yes I have used the search engine first but with no luck. Im working on a friends 94 v6 camry and I need to know how to reteive the faults from the ECM without a scan tool. I know how to do it on my 94 corolla, however the diag connector under the dash on this camry is different than the corolla and I do not know which terminals to jump. Also, is it possible to find out the brake/ABS faults in a similar manner? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The procedure should be in any manual. You can download a generation 3 Toyota factory service manual for free over at the top of the Camry forum on AutomotiveForums.com. It should have both procedures you are looking for.

Also, a side note. Some of the 94 and 95 Camry V6's were already OBD2 compliant. Check under the dash for an OBD2 connector. If you find one, places like Autozone can read the codes for you for free. Just tell them the car is OBD2.

your ecu is odbII you cant pull the codes with out a scanner.

how here were life starts getting annoying.

your connector port is odbI BUT with odbII pin out.

SEARCH on here how to rewire the port behind the coin box to the ODBII port (you need to take a trip to the junk yard)

or take it to toyota

well like a moron, i didnt look behind the coin tray, where the obd2 connector was. Scanned it with my pocket scanner and had some o2 sensor faults, no biggie, just need to replace bank1 o2 sensor. But still dont know how to pull faults from the ABS module, if thats even possible.
