3rd Generation Turn Signal Buzz

If the bulbs are good then it is the turn signal switch.

On all the buzz that I troubled.. it was ALWAYS the switch.

If you replace it BE CAREFUL with the AIR BAG.

Wind the coil 3 times from the left before installing the steering wheel.

I've noticed the same thing on the gen 3.5. It rarely happens so I haven't looked into fixing it.

Could it be the clicker thing going bad?

On my 2000 the device that makes the 'click' noise for your turn signal/hazards is located under the steering wheel to the left, hidden behind a plastic cover. It's a square black thing. When you have your turn signal/hazards on put your hand on it and you'll feel it clicking. That should be easy to replace, just pop it out and stick a new one in (make sure same model of course).

I wonder if that's it.

Here, I took a picture. It's under the steering wheel along the left by the door. I had to remove a single screw holding a plastic cover on and then pop it out. In the photo its the black box at the top of the image.

Flasher Assembly Toyota part 81980‑12110

Tridon makes an equivelent EF35 superceded by FET13 I bought the EF35 last friday for about $15 CDN.

I was able to reach in the GEN4 camry to get it our without taking off the trim piece.
My 00 Camry had an OE (Factory made ) plastic adapter and metal clip to use a similar LBE type flasher in it's place.
