5SFE Engine bay heat!

Ok, my friend CEL P0401 came back Thursday and disappeared within a couple of hours, but anyways when I went to go get the CEL read because I had no idea what it was(until it was read), i literally drove the car for about 25mins, opened the hood to check the EGR system but my engine bay was extremely hot. Engine temps where good, but I couldn't even touch my intake manifold because of how hot the bay was. I was like WTF?!?! I'm thinking to myself, the car was driven for approximately 25mins; how in the world the engine bay is so hot. Keep in mind my car doesn't have the plastic part the goes from the front bumper to about 1/3 into the engine bay underneath the engine or splash shields. So my question to you all is, how can i keep the engine bay temps down?? Or is this notorious for the 5S?

replace that sheild it helps for moving air back. do the tb coolant bypass mod and you can shim the back side of the hood up and remove the air seal.

The shield needs to be replaced for two reasons. One it reduces water splash up into the engine bay and two, it routes the air out the back side and bottom of the engine bay.

BTW the engine is as hot as it will ever get in 25 minutes. The rest of the engine bay may not heat up that fast but the engine itself will.

I know but im saying the entire bay was hot, i placed my hand on my intake and it wasnt too cool
