Have you ever replaced the fuel filter? You can monitor the current draw at the relay (easier that way).

A plugged fuel filter can increase the load and current draw. Stressing the pump to death.

Still original at 126k

IIRC our fuel pumps are cooled by the gas in the tank, so they will last longer if you never let the tank go empty. I personally fill up once I hit 1/4 tank.

Still on the original fuel pump on both my Cam and the Avy. 291k and 221k miles on them, respectively.
