Hi,

I have 99 Camry 4 cyl and my inner tie rod ends are shot. I decided to go ahead and replace the whole rack with a new one. I found some instructions on this site for v6 and they suggest dropping subframe a bit. Is this required for 4 cyl as well?

Is engine attached to the subframe? I wonder if it can completely lowered with engine still in the car.

yes you do have to lower the back a bit. it helps to loosen but not remove the front bolts. don't have to disconnect motor, but for safety's sake, put some sort of support under it.
