Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Anything at all? I would like to see pics and stuff of your cars with some custom work that YOU did. Electronics, fabrication etc.
I have a few cool ideas that I am playing around with in my head right now and might try out depending on how long it will take to make and much I have to put into it.
I did a custom LED 3rd brake light not too long ago and now I'm working on custom LED tail lights. Its for a 96 Lexus ES300 though so iono how much significance it would mean to you. It took quite some time to do since it was sort of trial and error as I have not touched soldering/electronics in a long time...
well considering theres VERY few parts avalible, worth spending the money on, almost all of us do custom work. but what kind of stuff are you lookin for?
I made my current mesh like grill out of the OEM grill. My front bumper was cut to fit the fog lights into place. That's kinda a ricey haha. My cat-back exhaust is custom but I didn't have the tools to do that myself.
CAI, side mount plate, headlights, front lip, mess grill, shifter, wide angle mirror, interior lightning, sound system, key less entry system, dash kits, gauge mount, leather steering ... I lost track ...
Pics?
I don't care for custom cold air intakes because I can make one with some scrap intercooler piping and a filter sitting around. Not much to that at all.

Good lord is that the biggest write up ever. How many amps does it draw when you hit the brakes? I would love to do something like that, however my knowledge with leds and resistors is limited due to me sleeping through almost every electronics course I have taken.
Custom blinker fluid reservoir and muffler bearings
headlight fluid nets 23 HP.

Lol, theres plenty more to be written as its a progress thread
To be honest, I haven't measured it but its well within what is considered the safe zone. I forgot what that number was too lol . Its plenty powerful though, I see peoples faces at night and many give me lots of distance during the day now so it does get everyones attention (main reason for making them)

I read the thread. You got too many hardcore tools for an ordinary DIY job
I did all these things myself through countless hours of work in my spare time while on a college student's budget:
Custom front grilles made with mesh
Dual Bi-Xenon HID projectors retrofitted into aftermarket headlights with black inserts
Custom interchangeable short ram <> cold air intake system
Custom LED tail light retrofitted into aftermarket alteza tail lights
Custom cleared corner lenses with black housing
Custom made roof-line LED brake light
