3rd Generation is my tranny giving up?

yesterday morning i drove my camry to work. as i was driving (normal driving) i noticed that my rpm goes up to 4k on first gear. stayed there for about 2 sec. so i thought it's fine. then i turn right on a stop sign, driving about 20mph have my gear on D when all of a sudden jump at 4k but it's only revving. it's like the gear is in neutral but i have my shifter on D. rpm were playing from 2k-4k but i wasn't moving. so i stopped on a side, turn the car off and on again the it's fine. does anyone experienced this before?

it may be the tranny, but check the condition and level of your tranny fluid first- an automatic transmission can be very sensitive to fluid levels (since it's moving fluid that makes the torque converter spin) as well as the condition of the fluid

3rd Generation

Sounds like it's slipping. Take it easy until you can check the fluids!
