Canada 1994 2.2 litre acceleration problems

Lately, the car has become noticeably sluggish.
It takes forever to accelerate in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear...hard to get up steep hills. It's not the transmission because the car is standard 5 spd.

I have to drop into 2nd gear and rev the fuck out of it to get some speed/power.

Just changed the plugs, wires are okay etc....is this problem related to the fuel filter? Or something worse

Thanks,
Karl

hopefully u didn't throw away your old spark plugs, cuz you will need them put back into the car while you run 1/3 of SEAFOAM into your vacuum line/brake booster. Also get DEEP CREEP for your throttle body and IAC. Do a search on SEAFOAM and read up on it. It might just solve your sluggish acceleration problems for a couple of bucks.

P.S
You need your old plugs because you don't want to foul your new ones.

Canada

I ran BG cleaner 2 years ago through the car...my gut tells me that this all relates to gasoline. In the summer I put in a tank of Shell's new premium nitrogen shit after only using petro canada's regular gas for years....it's been wonky ever since.

I never properly gapped the spark plugs when I installed new ones....would this cause horrible acceleration and power loss?

It's almost dangerous to drive because there is no throttle response in 2nd / 3rd/ 4th / 5th gear.

It's as if there is 1000 pounds in my trunk at all times....don't know what to do!!

Help please!

Karl
