The Final Look

heres the completion of this project. this is my beater. after this, its time to build the motor for my coupe. enjoy. the suspension is stock shocks and cut springs on the front, and dropzone on the rear. thats how low dropzone springs are for the rear.

Wheel specs: Rota D2 17x7.5 with a +20 offset, and tires are 205 50 17.

Whats wrong with cut springs? i know they provide a bad ride, can sometimes come out of the plate, and kill my shocks, besides that, whats bad about it?

Your car's stance is on point.

Did u go the cutting and stock shock route because you weren't looking to spend much on this car?

depending on how they were cut, they can fail easier because they lose their temper. i'm not talking about throwing a tantrum, i'm talking metallurgy. it makes em weaker.

and stock shocks won't last very long on shorter springs. that's the main safety concern.

I like the stance.

Ok with the cut springs. You have taken a soft spring and shortened it. Best way to describe it, 4 weeks after I put my COs in I was behind this Honda Accord. Noticed that something was wrong. He got to a bridge and the car bounced. He cut his springs so the car bottomed out and tore a hole in oil pan. Then I pasted him in the shoulder later down the road, kind of a rough spot, to find that his spring had come off the left rear strut.

But like the stance.

thanks for the comment.

i had that happen once on my front wheel, and pop a tire. but it was my fault cause i jacked up the car and didnt fix the spring to sit on the plate, so it came off and got on the tire. i bottom out so many times, but if you look at it, camrys have the H-brace, it blocks anything that will hit underneath the car. i've drag my car through speed bumps and hell, its my beater, and that is what beaters are for.
