3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It's been a LONG time since I've visited this subforum so I have no idea if these had been posted before. I would have killed for these when I was modifying my Camry.
ya someone else posted them, but they can't be found ANYWHERE besides that site, so i kinda question actual availability. can't find em on the TYC site either. i tried looking at autozone (i work there, and they sell TYC parts) and all i could come up with was the regular stock style lens assy's with the diffraction pattern.
sure do look nice tho! would be even better if there were actual clear (no diffraction) corners to go with them.

Does anyone else have a set of these? They have been introduced to us by Greg Cheban, who used to be our provider of clear lenses for the Gen 4.0 Camry.
Unless someone else speaks up, then I'm the only person on these boards who has a set installed. Their cutoff pattern is MUCH sharper than OEM, and their light output is better. I'm runninga 6000k Mod Express HID kit, and honestly the glare isn't bad at all (better than OEM headlights). These headlights are just in temporarily while I finish up my retrofit, and then the clear lenses from these headlights will go onto my retrofitted headlights.
I don't know anything about this particular set, but I know some people have installed gen 4.5 (2000-2001) head lights on the 97-99. That would cost you a bit less (35 per headlights and maybe20$ for a wire harness). Only downside is that you have to do a little custom fitting supposedly.
I'm gonna hopefully be installed gen 4.5 lights on my 98 this spring, since I think the 4.5 lights look a ton better then the gen 4 ones.
Now if it was possible to install gen 4.5 taillights, life would be awesome.
sure loads of people have done the 4.5 updates to the headlights, and i was planning to do it as well. but apparently h4 HIDs are much better than the typical 9006 HID kit, which is why i'd want to stick with these.
as for the taillight conversion... it can be done... it just requires a different trunk lid and bumper.

Side request. Would someone with a gen 4 stock headlight setup that is aimed correctly, take some pics of the beam pattern? I bought a new front bumper and headlights (oem style) and after installation (with the lights pointed ALL the way down) they still seem high to me.
I know the HID pros say that the glare is real bad from these housings but I took pics of them with halogen and HID bulbs in and the pattern is not that much different to me, just the output.

i aimed them down. ive had them for about 2 years and ive never been flashed. there is a little bit of glare but not horrible. i think the gen 3 and gen 4.5 have bad glare with hid kits but dont quote me on that

i think something is wrong.
I was 20 feet away from a wall and the top cutoff was 3 feet high. That seems high to me. I have them pointed all the way down. Any more and the bulb of the adjustment bolt will pop out. Those are a pain to get back in, too.
