3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i searched to make sure its no repost and if it is. sorry? but it is possible 2 have a supra motor in the camry?? i came across this video. and it saids Twin Turbo Supra engine?
Anything can be done, if you are willing to spend the money, I mean a lot of money.
The way I see it, you have two options for that kind of money:
1) spend a sh*t ton of cash on a Supra
2) spend a sh*t ton of cash to put a 2JZ-GTE in a Camry to make it a sleeper, and make something that
is still worth $3k max.
Personally, I want to wait 2 years until I have a $60k+/year job, and then build a 2JZ-GTE IS300. Still a bad financial investment, but I want to do it.

VTEC It's like waiting for really bad sex.
if i pay close attention, you can tell the front tires spin...
a 2jz is a longitudinal motor as to oppose
a transversely mounted motor that camrys come with.
the drive train just wont fit for a front wheel drive layout.
no matter the amount of money can fix that.
however, there are turbo set ups that the 1mz handle
300hp+ just a matter of money...
i say the vid is sped up, and they layed a sound track over it
thats it.

yeaaa thats wut i was thinking...but like ppl have always said, anything is possible with enough$$. who knows.
a supra motor, just a flat out no. not gonna happen.
its a shame that almost no one would even know what a supra is if it wasnt for the fast and the furious
if you want a fast camry, talk to some of the people that have swapped mr2 3sgte's into their camrys.
not sure who has, but i know bigbird and ASG14 do
Even with a ton of money thrown at it, a 2jz wont fit in a street legal way, it's just too long. You would have much more luck fitting a V6 RWD setup than you would an inline 6 into a camry, but it would still take a lot of money, and a lot of time to make it street legal and decently safe, and after that you would still have a hell of a time trying to insure it.
For offroad use only a RWD V-6 could work, for a street-able car, just buy something faster.

How could you forget Tony the Tiger? I guess because it's not 3S-GTE.
Lol I apologize. Tony the Tiger is an idol. 500hp out of a turbo 1mz. But that is a fully built motor and tranny. Think of how much money that cost. I'm sure many people can't afford what he has put into his camry
