Mufflers?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would know if there is a difference in the mufflers for 4 & 6 cyl 4th generation Camrys? Are the parts interchangeable? I was looking for a TRD part for my 4 cyl and only managed to locate one for the V6. I searched through the forums and also came up empty handed. I would appreciate imput if anyone has any. Thanks!

i4 and v6 muffler are completely different, i also found sometime even in same gen same 4cyl, different year and the muffler is different.

when my 93 camry i4 muffler developed a leak at i was trying to do a complete swap head to toe swap from a 95 camry i4. and after i wasted many hours to find the exhause pipe look very similar, but one is 2 inch shorter than the other, and the bending angle on the pipe is slightly different.

trd4life is selling TRD mufflers for the Gen 4 and he listed it as fitting both I4 and V6 along with the Solara.

I thought the 4 cyl. and 6 cyl. had different size exhaust piping? So it wouldn't necessarily be a bolt-on anymore depending on which muffler you get for your system.

the TRD's are universal fit...I4 or V6. but on the gen3 the mount points are different i believe. the only differance in the I4 and V6 exhaust is foward of the catback IIRC.

the best things you can do for your 5sfe exhaust is to install a highflow cat or remove it and maby get a set of headers. a stock 5sfe doesnt really need a big exhaust. 2.25 is more then adiquate.

it should. the 95 avalon shares the same underpinnings with the camry. but youll run into the same problems with teh gen3...the mounting hangers will need to be relocated.
