Which struts usually need replacing first, the front or rear. Or is there any difference. Thanks

3rd Generation

Press hard on the bumper (front or back) it should recoil back pretty quickly affirming the strut is good and well. If it feels VERY mushy and don't react fast after you press down a few times you should replace them.

I think they're about the same. But the fronts will be more noticeable when weak because of the increased weight. Change per axle at a time, both sides, if you don't do all four. I like to use Gabriel Ultras for typical driving. Bilsteins for firmer applications.

Hi,

Well, on my '94 V6 it was the front struts first by a long way, I guess because of the extra weight up there, and the dive they cope with every time you brake.

Cheers
