Will a v6 throttle body fit on a 4cyl? Are they the same size?
Anyone know the sizes>>?

Or has anyone gained anything from porting out the throttle body?

Acutally in all honestly I ported out my plenum and TB and I have a TB Spacer, it pretty much sharpened response at the higher end RPM's a bit and sounds very good IMO.

For smaller motors what I've seen is smaller diameter will = more low end and larger = more high end. However, will you see actual numbers? No, I doubt it.

It's made by Helix, on a 5S-FE.

the TB from a V6 will not fit on a 5sfe but you can have the mounting part from the 1mz welded on so you can use the TB from that engine. the TPS and AIC plugs in and doesn't have any issues. also the TB is a progressive type that will allow smooth response.

Gains as always on the 5s-fe are generally negligible. It does feel a little more responsive, but the main reason I got it was to further increase the volume and depth of the sound of my intake setup

Man these motors suck for gainning power. They are great for lasting a while. But it's hard to find anything for a decent price for no gains anyway. Intakes are over priced, so are headers. The underdrive pulley is a rarity if you can find one and it's still $200, nobody makes cams.
I guess I'm stuck with a slow car. Ugh I should just turbo it and call it a day.

Anybody know the theory behind how these things actually work. Is it just more air? It seems to me there is still no more air than can fit through the same diameter hole. I just dont want to throw away $100 but Im oddly intrigued. Thanks

It could be tappered or change the velocity of the air flow. Lots of different ways to do it.

Im just curious. Ive seen claims as high as 22hp and 4 or 5 mpg gains. Now Im sure these gains are best case scenario. I would hope for half that on a good day. Im just wondering if its worth $100. JCam, You noticed any mpg gains?

You won't get 10hp out of it no way. You can get maybe 3 maybe.
