headlight adjustment fix?

ok i tried to adjust the headlights via the vertical and horizontal screws but they don't move they just spin
now imagine they were set all the way down and all the way out so at night im either looking in the woods or glare off the road 10 feet in front of me

so for now i screw a couple of wal mart special aux lights to the bumper and thats how im seeing any distance in front of me

is there anything i can do to fix this im about ready to pound some ceder shims in there lol

thanks mike

Which year? And was the car built in Japan or in the U.S.? They have different adjusting mechanism.

When I was looking to replace the adjusters, I found many boneyard cars with shims used to replace broken headlight adjusting screws. Apparently it's a very common failure.

its a 94 and it has 2 8 mm bolts for each light for the adjustment and it looks as though the nylon adjustment part is broken...however there is no play with the headlight itself (i cant force it up or down

idk if it is American made

thanks mike
