mobil1 ep on camry 99

hello

my car is carmy 99. I have been using mobil1 synthetic since 80k and now 152k on it.

now I want to switch it to mobil1 extended performance. can I use that?

some people say that it's going to leak. is that true?

I don't need a lesson that it wastes money to use mobil1 ep on camry. I just want to know if it is true that t's going to leak.
( I am going to change that oil every 5k)
thanks

one more quesstion:
Is there anybody who use mobil1 ep on camry? If so, when do you change oil?

If you've been using M1 since 80K then it shouldn't make a difference. The EP has a higher additive ratio but the oil is the same. Older cars with dried out or cracked seals will leak.

This is what I used in my new MB 450SL back in 1974. I actually used the 20 weight. Notice the can says 25000 miles.
The car companies complained, the filter companies complained, etc. The oil change mileage was removed from the package. Incidently, Mercedes did not recommend synthetic oil in 1974, because it hadn't been tested in their cars.

EP every 5000 miles is kinda overkill. Sure these engines dump junk into the oil, but Mobil-1 should be plenty for the OCI.

Use a good filter and change no more than 5000 miles. Ask your dealer for an oversized V6 or truck I4 filter.

I have about 200 k on Mobil One in an I4. No leaks. Even though car repair is a high tek job these days there sure are a lot of old wives tales out there.
