Question Good Place to Get Alignment?

I got 4 new tires from Michelin last week from Costco. Total was $451. These things are so quiet! It 's like I'm driving on a cloud plus they repair flats for free. Not bad and with my luck I will get a nail eventually.

Anyways, they don't do alignments... so was wondering if anyone knew of a good place that does them? I had bad experiences with Sears and Tires Plus. I live in the DC area if that helps.

I heard NTB is good and that they also have a 3 year warranty package, where you can get alignment every 6 months.

Thanks for any feedback!

I have a local tire shop that does mine and I have gone to Toyota dealer once. I pay about $50 at the tire shop and seems like it was about $65-70 at Toyota. Be sure to tell them if there is anything wrong or if it is just a routine alignment. Also tell them you want the steering wheel straight as well if it is not already. They will get it kinda straight if you don't. That is my pet peev. Drive about 10 miles after alignment on several different roads and if the alignment is not right, take it back right then, tell them the problem and ASK them to ride with you and recheck it. Most shops want you to be happy and will look at it agian. Note: if it does not feel right, it probably is not right. Also if someone gets in the car with you it may change the way it behaves. I once had to send the tech in the car alone and told him what to look for. When he came back he had seen the problem. We fixed it by adjusting the toe with me in the car and holding the steering wheel straight.

An alignment is a pretty simple affair but some techs want to get as many in as they can and take no pride in producing a good product. One tech came back and showed me the computer printout that indicated all wheels were in tolerance. He paid no attention to the fact that all wheels were on the edge of the tolerance envelope and thus the car pulled to one side. I had him go back and set all wheels to the center of the envelope. He had never heard of stacked tolerences and had no idea of their negative effect. However he had an open mind and learned something that day.

I called the local dealership and they charge $150.

NTB charges $130 for the three year Alignment plan. I'm very tempted to get it done at NTB. Anyone have experience with them?

Thanks!

JJ do you happen to know a website that shows what places use the Hunter alignment? I'll try calling some Lexus dealerships tomorrow... hope they would service my Toyota.

I also decided to not do the 3 year alignment through NTB since I'll probably sell this car in a 12-18 months.
