Camry 98: Brake light bulb

Hi all,

I am newbie here. I'd like to ask a question for my camry 98 V6. Just last night, the rear warning light in my dashboard came on. It comes on when I press the brake pedal. I checked the brake light and one of them (left side) does not lit up when brake pedal is pressed.

I checked the manual "Light Bulbs" session and I am not sure which light bulb I have to buy. It lists: "Stop and tail lights" (Bulb no. 3157, W. 27/8, Type C) as well as "Tail light" (bulb no. 904, W. 9.3, Type C)

My question is which bulb I have to buy? Is it Stop light or Tail Light? Please teach me the difference between the two.

And may I know from where (decent website?) I should buy such bulb? Is there any tutorial (with pics or video) for camry 98 brake bulb replacement?

Thanks so much,
Rob

The center one is the smaller 904. The sides should be the 3157.

You can go to your local Autozone, I believe they'll even put them in for you if you buy there.

Your manual should also tell you how.

Just an FYI. Here's a site that should help indentify bulbs in most any car.

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

I keep a printout in the glovebox of each of my cars. It's a lot more convienent then the actual owner's manual.

Like JohnGD said, there should be a procedure in your owner's manual for replacing the bulbs.

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate your help and wonderful information. I called Autozone and they said they will replace the bulbs if I buy from them.
