98 turn signal problem

I have a 98 Camry with a turn signal problem. When I have my lights on, and turn on left signal it flashes very fast. But if I have my lights off it flashes normal.
It only happens with the left signal. Any ideas will be appreciated.

One of the dual filament bulbs on the left side of the car is out. It could be in the front or the back. Turn on the lights and then turn on the left turn signal and note which one is not flashing. Use the right side to show you which bulbs are the ones that flash when the signal is on. Your owner's manual should show you how to replace the offending bulb.

Most likely it is a burned out turn signal light bulb. Front or back? you check. If not, then check the fuse for the turn signal light. Its either located under the hood or under the driver side leg/pedal area.
Also it could be LED lights installed, but that is a 0% chance.

No, your bulb probally isnt burned out. I have the same problem with my 98 occassionally. This will sound crude but turn the lights on and turn the turn signal on, get out ot the car and slighlty hit the corner light untill it flashes normally.

Problem solved.

Its a problem with the connectors on this car, if you ever had the time some dielectric grease on the socket of the bulb works, but I just hit mine every few months lol

Turnsignal

The slight hit to the side of the side of the car worked, like a charm.
Thanks for your solution.

Anyone know why the right turn signal light stays on while the left one doesn't when the headlights are on? They both blink just fine only that the right one stays on (steady) while the left one if off until It's turned on for a turn. IE: Right always on, left only on for turns.
???

I did, in fact I decided to replace both sides and the right side did the same thing again, even with the new bulbs!! I double checked with the old bulbs, switching them to the opposite side but the right side remained on no matter what! Go figure!!
