1994 Camry Rear Oil leak

I have a fairly minor leak of the rear oil seal. 120k on 2.2l. It is not enough to even need topping up between oil changes, but the drip is right on the exhaust, which makes the car smell like it is burning oil. I'd rather not pull the engine at this point, particular in light of how minor the leak is, but my wife keeps complaining about the smell.

I was thinking of bolting a small piece of sheet metal under the leak to direct it away from the exhaust. Has anyone come up with any other solutions?

I would rather try to find out where exactly this is coming from, you'll lose less time and it will be a better job.
Can you be more precise on where it is coming from ? Do you think it might be from the valve cover ?
btw welcome to TN !

No, the leak is from between the engine and the transmission. That's why I attribute it to the rear main seal.
