Bumper Replacement

Just wanted to share some pictures of today's bumper/grille replacement.

I should have taken pictures of when I changed out the headlights. Those made even more of a noticeable difference.

For anyone who's wondering, I haven't put in the the center grille emblem yet because it fell apart when I initially took it out. I guess I'll have to glue it back together ($28 from the dealer new? wtf!), maybe even get it painted a different color.

very good job. im need to replace my front bumper as soon as i repaint the "new" one i pulled from a local salvage yard.

i do have a question for you - on the gen 3.5 front bumper, there is a metal bracket on each side of the bumper as a support that connects the top of the bumper just below the corner light to the front of the fender. when i pulled the fender off from my car, the bolts were seized and snapped the 2 studs on this bracket. exact same thing happened on the bumper brackets from the salvage yard. does yours have these same brackets? any similar problems?

That bracket does not look familiar, so it must not have moved to the next generation. =\

My sister's husband's brother.

...'s dentist's neighbor's drug dealer's second cousin.

Well, that second part isn't true. But hey, why not?

By the way, if you need to replace one or both of those brackets, the OEM part number is 5206133010 and they're $10.82 on Rock Auto.

I have a painted to order front bumper for my '99 on order from ebay. 225 with tax and shipping. They had a link to get the paint code from, and an approximate 2-3 week wait. I'll let you know how it looks when it shows up.

I bought my aftermarket bumper from eBay as well. Just material black. Under $80 shipped. I was considering getting the painted one, but I didn't feel comfortable paying up that much. I look forward to seeing how yours came out!
