Hood struts for a 1999

I feel kinda left out here. My friend has a '92, another friend has an '01, and both of them have struts to hold the hoods open. Me? I've got a stinkin' prop rod! I didn't notice any threaded holes to mount strut brackets to either. Anybody here ever heard of a '99 with struts? Retrofitted their 99 with struts? Something, anything?

oh if only it were that easy... no, the holes arent there because it wasn't an option on gen4 97-99. 00-01 got em tho. there's extra plates of metal welded on for them to bolt to, so it's not a simple bolt-on situation.
