Assuming that is the exact tool for your vehicle it will only be able to hold the harmonic balancer and keep it from turning as you loosen the center nut. The square cutout that is on the side of the tool is so you can put a 1/2 drive ratchet/breaker bar in it to hold the tool. You will still need a harmonic balancer puller to complete the removal. In short, no this tool by itself will not remove the balancer but it will aid in the process.

I want to hold the harmonic puller from rotating and use deep socket to remove the NUT (with help pipe) from harmonic puller...will this tool do the trick? 96 camry I4 2.2?

I know I need another tool to remove harmonic puller off completely.. I just want to confirm if this tool above will do the trick remove NUT from harmonic puller...before I spend $.

I haven't try the jump kick method, because I worry I might damage something while doing it.

What should I look out when perform a jump kick method? Can someone share they experience and steps how to jump kick?

Has someone tries other tool that has success remove the NUT (harmonic puller)?

Thanks

It does not appear to list the 2.2L in the application list. I'd use a holder, because you'll have to torque it down to 80 lb/ft afterwards. How about asking a local machine shop to custom build the holder used in here:
DIY: GEN3 Timing Belt + Waterpump + Oil Seal Change - Part 2

You should use a steering wheel puller type to pull off the pulley. Not the 3-jaw type. The rubber insulation layer will be damaged.

i've tried the pipe wrench, the one with a chain, but that tends to mark the pulley,
i've also tried the starter bump method,
here is the detail, i think the 4cyl uses 19mm or (3/4") socket while the V6 uses 22mm, the crank pully will turn clockwise when the engine runs, if you put a 19mm socket and a 1/2" breaker against something strong, like the control arm, i normally ziptie the breaker tight to the control arm, make sure the socket is all the way in crankshaft bolt.

go in the car, put key in igintion, and turn it all the way to start the car for 0.5 second, then immediately turn the key to off, and remove the key from cylinder. other people recommend remove EFI fuse, or spark plug wire, but i've tried without doing neither, and works like charm.

using starter pump method still have another problem, once you loose it, and do all u need, but then when you reinstall the crank bolt. how tight can you go without the engine spinning.

and later i bought myself a dewalt electric impact wrench from lowes
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...293&lpage=none
deliver 345lb/ft of torque, 2700 impact /minute. so far i've tried every crank bolt that i change timing belt with, gen3, gen4, gen5, 4cyl and V6, all works, some bolt take longer, but still come loose, and reinstall with dewalt electric wrench works like a charm, i found the impact wrench useful many areas, like axle nut, strut bolts, lug nuts.

Yeah that bolt WILL be a pain without an impact gun. Easiest thing would be the starter method, of making one of those club holder things.

Itll be pretty hard to tighten the bolt using these methods.

The easiest and best way would to just borrow a air gun and a compressor from someone you know. I borrowed a mediocre husky one from a friend and cranked my 15 gal compress to 150psi and the bolt spun off pretty easy.

I just made my own club from a floor flange and pipe nipple that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. I agree with the other guys, the bump start method is the way to go to remove the bolt. Don't worry about damaging anything. It's easy and free. There is a youtube video in my write up showing how it's done. Mine was a 2000 LE 6cyl, but I think the procedure will be the same for yours. Be sure that you check the pulley bolt spacing. Seems to be different between models. Here's the link 2000 Camry LE 6cyl 1MZ-FE Timing Belt Change Good luck.
