5sfe Header Question

just wondering, if U buy an aftermarket header for my 1993 5sfe, will I have to buy another one later on for the Rippmods supercharger. I guess what I'm asking is the Rippmods supercharge system have a specific header for it?

If I can use any after market header whats the best one for the money? I'm looking at the Bosal header cause it had all of the sensors in it.

The rippmods kit comes with a header specifically made for the kit.

yeah, just so you guys know, i have the RIPP mods header, and it's essentially the same thing as the bosal/brospeed header. and if you're gonna run the SDS supercharger i think that all you need is a header of some form.

you dont NEEEEEED a header at all... all the header does is increase the flow of exhaust gasses. better flow out is better flow in... but if you do the rippmods s/c later on and want headers now, go for it... if you dont want the bosal/brospeed ones, email ripp and see if they will sell you just a header...

Why are you sayng I don't need a header? You said better flow out is better flow in, that means more hp, right?

Maybe I should clearify by saying I'm going to rebuild my engine with a stroker kit, new exhaust and catback, and possibly in the near future get a rippmods s/c.

Well actually you do need a header if you are going to get the rippmods kit. It won't fit otherwise.

if you are getting the sds, more air is going in so you will need the headers for better airflow. the stock manifolds simply can't do that. also heat issues.

Look at a picture of a stock engine and one with the Rippmods system. The way the stock exhaust manifold is made, the kit won't fit. But the way aftermarket headers are made, it will.

correct, and i'm fairly certain that RIPP mods will sell just the header....but like so many other threads are sayin, ur gonna have issues with o2 sensor placement. all u need to do really is just extend the o2 sensor wire and have both of the sensors in place, one before(there is a place for it on the header) and one after the cat(depending on the cat it may have to be custom mounted, but that's no big deal)
