I can't seem to find any cold air intake kits for 2000 Camry I4's. Injen doesn't even appear to make their Short Ram Intake Systems for I4's, only V6. Unless that's interchangeable?
Any suggestions?

no their not interchangable, the v6 one is a straight pipe and the i4 is curved and made to fit where our stock air boxes are, ive actually thought about getting an injen one but didnt want to spend the money incase it didnt really do anything. yes they still make the i4 ones the model number is IS2020P and heres a link on ebay for new ones: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories if u get one, hit me up and let me know if u saw any improvements as far as mpg hp etc. thanks
ok i see what u mean on their website but im assuming the 99 will still work on it let me call injen and see
ok idk the part number ive seen for 00-01 is is2022p but idk if the is2020p is the same or not?
It comes with a free cold ram kit tube to attach, but you would have to modify to fit to stock cold air intake scoop or make some sort of mod yourself. Anyways, I don't think many cold ram air kits come with accessories to route tubing to the outside...

I have the Injen SRI on my 2000 5SFE. I'm thinking about getting the extension to make it a CAI. You won't find much of an increase in performance from just an intake, regardless if it's SRI or CAI. But most people would prefer the CAI since it would be drawing cooler air than with the SRI.

I take it yours is a v6 then? Since Injen doesn't make an I4 SRI?

Thanks! Where were you for the past 2 meets? Come out next time
sorry for the thread steal OP...
Broke and confused I dropped my car super low in the front and back and when I changed the struts out, ripped a CV boot, had to get both axels replaced and still don't have a 100% safe suspension setup for another week or so NEXT MEET !

Probably just aesthetics I guess. I've never owned a Weapon-R so I wouldn't know how it is, maybe some other people can chime in on that. I got mine because it's CARB legal and because it's a name brand intake. Supposedly I can attach an additional pipe to make it a CAI.

I just read a thread where people were saying Weapon-R has a different sound to it. Does injen give off a different sound as well? I never imagined an air-intake being loud.

A complete waste of time and money.....if you are looking for a CAI to boost HP. They don't..... that's just advertising hype. Besides, the stock intake IS basically a "cold air intake".....in that the air enters at just behind the driver's side headlight. As for the oiled air filters "flowing more air".....and thus creating more HP....... that's BS also. Either the filter FILTERS, in which case it will have a certain amount of restriction...... or it doesn't filter as well, in which case it will have less restriction. A proper filter, of whatever type, capable of filtering the same particle size.....WILL produce the SAME amount of restriction, period. There is a SMALL value in a smoothly curved intake tube of uniform diameter, as opposed to the wacky amalgamation of shapes of the standard intake system..... but only a fraction of a hp, no more. The ultimate limitation, however, is the throttle body.....which is just a hair over 2" in diameter (on the 5SFE). No matter what you do upstream of the TB, it will only flow so much air, without turbocharging or supercharging. As I said.....a fraction of a hp.....that's it.
If you are looking for a CAI for appearance sake...... or to get rid of the HUGE airbox in the engine bay, for easier access.....that is another matter. But, for the amount of money charged for these ACCESSORIES (and that is ALL they really are)..... I'd say, don't waste your time (or money). You'll do more by reducing exhaust backpressure anyway.
