3rd Generation The start of a "different" Led project

So ive been working on somthing new as yall know involving 9in high intensity led (audi inspired strips) from theretrofitsource.com as i have stated in past threads. Well after a week of thinking and a day of testing. I have come up with my main goal. I test fitted them inside the gen 3.5 depos but did not really like them because it was just a 5in strip inside the main headlight and didnt look complete. so i decided to mount it to the lip on the underside of the headlight. this way i could wrap around and get the led under the parking light as well. heres pics of what i have so far.

I am cutting up 2 more strips to fit the last bit of small gap between the leds and wall under the parking light.

Heres some night shots. Im kinda mad because of the glare that the camera has so imma try a different camera. In person you see each led. And when they said high intensity they ment it!

Theses are just the leds and no headlights on or parking lights.

As far as what is being done today before class:

1. Cut 9 more leds out of my other 2 strips and mount them to finish off the front.

2. Finish hiding the leds so all you see is bulbs and no bodies that hold the leds.

3. Wash the car

4. reaim my hids tonight.

The best part is. the leds are the same color as my hids so they match perfectly

For the next week im going to start making small strips to be used in footwells, license plate lights, and trunk lights

Also need to make a new wiring harness for my parking lights seeing that i have spliced into them so many times.

stay tuned.

Chris

p.s. ill see if i can get more pics tonight tryin to get a little less glare.

After im all done ill make a video walk around of the car at night with all the new led setups.

For $15+shipping off of theretrofitsource.com for 2 9in strips, these are great! i am very impressed with them. I ordered 2 sets and will prob be ordering more soon!

Nice! Is there any way to tap those into the parking lights? How did you wire these up?

I think those LED's are 'water proofed' and therefore should be fine. Spitfire would know though.

sorry for the real late reply guys. yes they are water proof! and as for an update im breaking out the soldering gun tomarrow to start work on my custom led foglights gotta run wire off of the remainin leds from the 2nd strip to build off of. ill try to post pics up tomarrow as for how they are hooked up. right now they are just wired to my parkin lights just because thats what i used to test. havnt had time to hook them how i want. i plan on hooking the headlight leds to one switch and my custom fogs to another switch just so i dont have that much light commin off of my front end at night. i can choose

looks awesome

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing- putting them under my headlights since mine has a pretty decent sized gap under them. it'll look good, light-wise, and also fill in that gap
