3rd Generation 60 dollar paint job!

Well i was getting tired or the emrald green of my Carmy, and i wanted to do some rust prevention on due to the long Wisconsin winters. so i figured if im gonna paint my car i might as well paint the whole thing and have fun with it. Well heres some pics of how she looks today. the paint isn't quite as good looking in person(i really need to do another coat of blue) but about 25 feet away or while the car is moving it looks great
i haven't decided yet what im gonna do w/ the grill. Im thinking i just gonna paint it black but i might go blue instead or a sliver mesh.
next up 3.5 gen tails and clear bumper lights, 6x9s and door speakers. they're in the mail hopefully they'll be here soon

got some subs too

3rd Generation

Hmm... in all honesty man that isn't too bad!

Not sure why you did black in the middle though! I think the car would've looked a little better all one color. What did you use to paint? If you wetsand, clear coat, and polish everything out it's actually possible to get a cheap paint job to shine and last! Props for doing it yourself man, what a venture!

In pictures it doesnt look bad at all. I rattle canned the front bumper on my old celica back in the day but I didnt wet sand it so it felt like sand paper looked good with the 4 coats of clear i put on it though. Point your subs towards the back they will hit harder. I used to think that was the way to but you actualy want the boom to echo off of the trunk for the best effect.

I just finally got around to painting my front bumper this past weekend. I purchased my 00 Camry wrecked and fixed it. I put aftermarket sheet metal on it and ever painted it. If will put up a thread later on it.

I used the Duplicolor premixed paint. I bought 8 cans of rattle cam primer, one quart of Duplicolor Jet Black and 1 quart of Dulpicolor Crystal Clear. It came out better than I expected.

Yeah I think if it were all blue, it would come off better looking. The black really stood out as "DIY PAINT JOB"

thanks for the tip on sub placement. im gonna have to get grills for them though. skateboards and subs dont get along well which is y i turned them that way to begin with. i use Rust-o-lium matalic for the blue it was like 5.10 a can and the one dollar cans from home depot for the black. I used no primer and no clear. Thanks for the complements but i think if u saw it in person all u'd have a little differant reaction. I came from the honda world and always liked the "reverse skunk" that some guys were doing on theu're civic EGs so i kind of copied it.
Also does any one know if my wheels are an factory option. Ive seen them on one other camry but that could just be a coinsidence.

woah what? Any pics of the aftermarket sheet metal repair? Link to supplier? I have a bent lip on my hood so I'd like to weld that up nice and sand and blah and paint.
