Toyota 4spd a/t 540E remove and replace

I'm getting ready to have to remove and replace my 540e with a JDM. I was wondering if either of the haynes/chilton manuals are better? I have downloaded the shop manuals here, and unfortunately the point to a 1994 541E which might cover it, but I'd prefer or think I would prefer one of the other manuals. I don't have any transaxle fwd experience, but have done a few rwd american muscle cars in my earlier days.

Thanks, and if any tips or pointers, feel free please.

It should cover it. Personally I go with Haynes.

if you drop it out the bottom, yes.

otherwise, no. the automatic tranny is too big to pull out the top of the car by itself. The 5speed tranny can be possible though, I'm sure, since it's so much smaller.
