Hmmm. Hard to describe where to connect those babies in words. You should have a vacuum hose routing diagram on the underside of your car hood -- there might be might be enough detail there to get your started.

BTW, the thing in #3 is a purge valve for the charcoal canister (one end goes to the canister, the other to a vacuum source...usually in the vicinity of the throttle body). Problem is, that sucker is broken -- one of the barb fittings is snapped off.

BBTW, don't use auto parts / NAPA hoses for these -- they're English instead of Metric diameter, and don't fit tight enough.

so no auto part stores? hmm.. i guess if i cant find anything.. ill just bring some back from the pick a part when i go get ah new purge valve.

I don't know what year your car is. Mine is a Gen4, 2000. I just went out to take these photos. It was dark so I had a difficult time getting it to focus right...

Regarding your first photo.

This is where that hose goes:

Regarding your second photo, once again, I don't know what year your car is, but looking at the service manual for a Gen4, that hose should go to the VSV for the EGR. If yours is a Gen3 (or any generation), you can find the service manuals here: http://www.camrystuff.com/ For the Gen4, the diagram is in the Emissions pdf.

I was unable to find anything that looked like what you were pointing out in the third photo.

I buy my hoses from auto stores. They fit just fine. Although I'm sure dealership hose would be better.

Blue would be nifty too! Personally, I want green hoses for Emissions related parts, but any colored ones seem to be effing expensive on eBay.

The hos at 73rd and Main are dirty though, be careful!

4mm definitely *sounds* small enough. I wonder if you can get the hose specs from a dealership.

Too bad there aren't any green ones on eBay! =[

I wanted green hose for the EVAP system. Maybe I'll settle for yellow.

If you look where your red-lined hose is going into the throttle body now, there should be four ports on the throttle body. From the firewall side to the radiator side, they are usually referred to as the P, E, R, and "throttle opener" ports.

The P port (the one closest to the firewall) should have a vacuum line going from it to the purge valve (the valve you just replaced)...doesn't matter which nipple on the purge valve. Another line should go from the other nipple on the purge valve to the charcoal canister -- what you refer to as the "little black cylinder" -- (basically, just re-route the hose that you marked with a red line to the purge valve).

The two middle ports go to the EGR vacuum modulator...the R port goes to the R port on the VM, and the E port goes to the P port on the VM.

The port on the TB closest to the radiator just goes down to the throttle opener (the hose route you've labelled "suggestion", near as I can tell...
