Ironically, I getting a price quote at my dealer today for an IS300 block heater, lol. I was lookign at the catalogue. Yes, the dealer has one specific for the Gen 3 5SFE. And cheap too.

Once I started my car at -15F.....I have never heard noises like that from a car before.....And it probably gets colder where he is.

CORE HOLE PLUG LOCATION AND CORDSET ROUTING ELEMENT/CLIP DIRECTION 12 o'clock
Front, 2nd from left.
Remove exhaust manifold. For models prior to 1994 model year, remove upper exhaust manifold heat shield only. Route cordset towards left side of engine compartment.

The lowest temperature I started the Camry was 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
I have contemplated a block heater, but winters here generally only dip to about 12 degrees or so Fahrenheit.
Camry started everytime...
well I lied, one time it didnt, but that was because of the cheap OEM Battery didnt crank the block.

SADLY, SHE HAS MUCH MORE MODS...
I don't really NEED one, I just want heat when I start the car. How much does the Toyota heater cost? I have never knocked out a freeze plug, is it difficult?

Remote start burns gas, electricity is way cheaper. I did the math, it will cost around $20 in power to run a block heater all winter. Not to mention the gas mileage boost(I drive 4 miles to school).
The coldest it gets around here is -20*F never seen it below -30 that I can remember.

Besides the freeze plug option, what about the lower radiator hose heaters you can buy? Reports from people who READ THE FUCKING INSTRUCTIONS claim they work pretty good, and I can get one from tractor supply(local) instead of driving long distances to the nearest Toyota dealer. Ease of installation makes it tempting too.
