Hi everybody first off im new here and originate from Ottawa, Canada.
I own a 1994 Camry V6 that I love.....
I really want to change my plugs and I am mechanically inclined.
The problem is that I refuse to pay 320 Bucks to have toyota do it.... Every mechanic out there told me that it is impossible to do it without removing the intake. I have read a thread on here but is it really possible to do it without removing all that crap?????????
certain models do and certain models don't need to pull the intake off.
just a heads up buddy: pulling the intake is actually pretty easy. you only need to pull the upper plenum. its like less than 10 bolts, and as long as you know which vacuum lines went where (which is on the hood anyway) its super easy.
I would say definitely give it a try.

I did it on my '96, and I know I can do it on a 92/93 with the 3VZ Engine. I;'m not 100% sure on the '94, as it has coil packs on the rear bank unlike mine. I'll forward this to a friend with a '94 so hopefully he can answer it for you.

Thank alot.. Actually my 94 V6 has coil packs so removing them and pulling them out might be a problem.... Ill check the bolts tomorrow to remove the intake plenum..
Again thanks for the replies and BTW some of you have the hottest 3gen camry's ever.....
I saw one with clear headlights new paint badges etc etc it looks new, so nice .........
You don't have to remove the intake to get to the rear plugs it just makes life easier. I was able to do it without removal of the intake. I used 1/4 socket wrenches to removal the bolts off the coil packs and then used a 3/8 ratchet with an extension to get to the plugs.
Ive got the same year, same engine, and I just did this less than a week ago...
I would reccomend just removing the intake, imho. It really wasn't that difficult to remove in mine, and putting the throttle body and airbox back on was a breeze.
It looks daunting at first but it will probably save you alot of time in the long run. I had some trouble, even with the intake totally off, getting the coils back inside along the back row because its so close to the firewall. Get a foot or so of some 3/8 id (i believe) hose/tubing and you can use it to thread the spark plugs in without crossthreading them.
If you go for it and need any help or pictures of the assembled product, im happy to help.

ill also add though, that two mechanic friends of mine said that I didn't need to take the intake off. I didnt give it much of a shot before I went ahead with removing it, but the one try I gave it seemed awful damn tight and my hands are pretty small.
Doing plugs on a lot of newer cars is a pain in the ass. On my mom's 97 Grand Caravan to do the rear bank you have to go underneath and do em blind(or pull the intake).
