Unhappy Ugh, TRD SC I was shipping to Australia....well, turns out it needs a rebuild.

Well, Gabe (TRD4Life) sold a TRD SuperCharger to a guy in Austrailia I know. And I am doign the shipping as I know internation shipping and customs.

Long story shory. Gabe had the SC opened 100 miles ago, and everything was perfect. I just opened it up before I was goign to pack it, to make sure again it was fine......somehow, that 100 miles, it seems like something got into the SC unit. The teflon on the rotors started to come off in chunks, and there is some grooving on the walls.

Needless to say, Gabe and I talked and it will either be rebuilt before it;s mailed off, or Gabe will send another one that's perfect. Thank God we figured this out before it was shipped to my friend.

It will be perfect after the rebuild though.

He is one of the main guiys that gets and sells them. Both Eye8Pussies and I got ours through him.

He sells several a year. anywhere between $2-3k normally.

I don't know about these things, but where do you send a SC to be rebuilt?

Oh well. Better to have found out now before I got it I suppose.

Also gives me time to fix up the first stage of the S/C install + get my brakes done.

Thanks for being thorough adam.

Well, 100 miles SINCE it was opened up like I did. It has a lot more miles ten that. So over those 100 miles, SOMETHING, that we can;t figure out, happened. I personally think something got into it. But either way, it needs a rebuild.

What stops the metal shaving from getting in the engine?

An Aussie getting a S/C and I don't know anything about it... lol

Good to see it's sorted before it left the country - woulda been a waste of time and money getting it back and forth etc
