2000 camry window regulator

Hello I'm new here. A month ago my window stopped rolling up. I opened the panel and seen that the regulator parts had broken. i been taping the window up so far. I want to know is there a place on the forum that can tell me how to install one? Also what type of cleaner can take the tape residue off the window? Your comments are appreciated.

Cleaner? I think you need some marine or white grease

I am sorry, I missed that part. Get some adhesive remover. An autoparts store or a home improvement place will have it.

Do you have a bad motor or the regulator assembly? Often the motor goes bad:

You can usually borrow the rear window motor on the same side. Use it in place the bad one, if not just to crank up the window, especially if there are weather and security issues. And when you get the new one put it in the back.

This DIY is for the older cable style. Yours should be a crank style. Check Autozone's free repair guide, with registration.

dont want to start another topic. so let me explain my problem
my front left side window will come down but then it take hours to go back up.
i am pretty sure the motor is weak.

I have the same car 2000 toyota camry with the same problem front driver side window goes down but slowly goes up...

suspect the motor goes bad, so I just bought the MOTOR ONLY at rockauto.com... you still beable reuse the track of window regulator...just remember when you remove the old motor, count how many teeth on the track so you can put back to the right spot.

my motor arrive next week, so i'll replace and let you know.

I have the same problem but I have replaced the motor and regulator twice. I have an alignment issue and can't figure out how to adjust it so the window comes back up smoothly. Once the window goes up about 90% of the way it starts to lean towards the engine, versus staying in the track and it gets stuck. I then have to push it back towards the weather strip and then roll it up again. Any idea of how to fix it?

If your window still works but is slow try spraying the window channels and seals down with Armor All. I was able to completely avoid having to replace a motor for over 7 years by trying this first and reapplying every spring and fall.
