EGR Valve, OEM or aftermarket?

I apologize if this question may have already been answered, but I have read many a thread in this forum regarding it's replacement and I do not recall an answer.

On RockAuto, "Standard Motor Products" runs $122.99. Airtex is $132.99, and ACDelco is $138.79.

In one thread I remember a price of ~$200 for OEM being mentioned.

I spent a while earlier today trying to get that lower nut removed. Biggest wrench I had was a 19mm. Tonight I finally read that it required a 24mm, or of course an adjustable wrench. But I have a feeling using an adjustable from above the engine bay will not be as easy as from below.

So once I get this effing this off, I think I will want to replace it rather than clean it. Maybe I'll just clean it, run the proper tests to make sure it checks out and sell it. But I'd like to put a new one back on.

So as the title describes, will aftermarket EGR's work just as well as OEM?

EDIT: I've read that the VSV's are definitely better OEM. Which is why I purchased OEM ones for the EGR and Charcoal Canister. Just unsure about the EGR itself.

<shrug> EGR valve from 1sttoyotaparts is $132 + $13 shipping (yeah, their shipping charges reek these days...I really need to find another OEM supplier). For that small of a difference in price, I'd go OEM.

Very true! I called both local dealers. Their price was $202.xx + tax. The highest priced aftermarket one on RockAuto auto $140 or so, plus shipping. I'd say $60 is fairly significant. And this is really the way it goes for most parts from the dealers where I live.

Yesterday I bought a starter repair kit. Cost me about $30 and I remember it being mentioned that it should have been around 20. I probably could have had him drop it a few bucks, but I normally only do that when the cost for whatever I'm buying is up around a hundred. Maybe the dealers around here just jack up a price a bunch? I don't know.

I scored a brand new oem EGR Valve from eBay, $139 shipped. Verified the part number. So I'm happy.
