Engine Cover Bolt Help

I have a 1mz and I want to remove the engine cover, but of the two bolts that are holding it in , one of them the ridges are all totally worn out and I dont know what to do. I asked Toyota and for them to even take a look at it, I would have to pay 40 bucks for a half hour.

Any help would be useful thanks.

they are a bitch to get off when stripped. they will have to be tapped to be removed...at least without braking anything.

when you go to Toyota, go around back to the service garage. ask any mechanic person you come across to look at the car for a second (have you car around back by garage) then explain your problem.

i once had wheel locks (factory) my key broke. i went to toyo buy another key (i think it was 46) so i passed being the cheapa** that i am.
i then asked if they can just remove the locks for me. toyo told me i would have to pay$$ for each hour. i walked out, i took my car around to the garage and asked any guy for help. the guy went got a key and remove the locks within 5 mins FREE

i would get a dermel and make a cut down the center of the bolt head then use a Flathead screwdriver.
