4th Generation Questions about Halo headlights for my Gen 4

Hey guys,

So I have used the search, but haven't really found the answers I am looking for. I want to hear from people that either have, or have had these headlights. Do you like them? Any negatives about them? I was thinking about getting them for my car but I am on the fence. Do they put out more light than the stock ones? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I had them but took them off because they look ricey IMO now that I think about it. I had them for quite some time with no problems but recently the halos stopped working. One side would flicker and eventually went out. It was probably due to a bad connection or something but I never fixed it since the halos looked tacky after awhile. As of now, I think any LED's in the headlights look bad, but that's just my opinion. I pretty much kept the headlights on because they were black housing. Compared to the OEM lights, I think the light output is narrower because of the black housing. I have pics of my setup but I'm sure you already know what they look like. If you do decide to get a set, I'd suggest getting the black housing corners too so that everything matches. But yeah, OEM headlights provide better output and look 10x better I think..

That is exactly what I wanted/needed to hear. I am trying to avoid the whole "rice" look. Subtle is the word here, afterall, I have named my car the "G.S.S. - Gentlemans Sport Sedan". There are a few cars on here that I am using as inspiration and yours is definetly one of them. One of the others is from the recent thread where the guy had the custom engine cover.

BTW, where are you in So Cal? I'm in Carlsbad, about 40 minutes north of downtown SD.

those headlights are actually pretty cool IMO but i don't think it'll work out with your car because you're going for a more sport/luxury look opposed to an aggressive road beast.. if anything, wait for the set that comes with the headlights and corners.. because its a task trying to find those blacked out corners to match.

Good to hear mine's an "inspiration" car for you. But you already surpassed me in terms of power since you have the V6 and TRD supercharger

I agree with ONE_to_HATE, keep the stock lights to maintain a more OEM and clean look. If you want to be really discrete, you can always do other performance mods to give you an edge. I had a CF hood at one point that I wanted to paint the same color as my car, but it would have cost too much so I ended up selling it. When I did have the CF hood and black housing halos, my car looked pretty bad. My car turned a lot of heads and everyone stared as I drove past, but I enjoyed seeing the reactions. Some people even liked how the car looked.

Anywho, I'm from around the LA and Inland Empire areas. Maybe we can meet at the next SoCal car meet whenever that's coming up.

I have those headlights, at first they were nice but after a while they started to look more "rice" but I have a diamond grill mesh, so ~yea. And the LED halo ring wasn't very bright in the real world, so that didn't help.

Since you're going for "sports sedan," I think you'd benefit from a projector retrofit. Depending on what kind of sport sedan you're aiming for, maybe you can use CCFL rings to get a BMW headlight look.

Those headlights are great for a projector retrofit and it leaves your OEM headlights as back up. The black bezel really helps hide the "ugly" parts of the project and you can get away with using the stock shrouds from the projectors. And IMO, it looks much better than just sticking a projector with a shroud inside stock headlights. It looks more OEM-like and it's supposed to have projectors.
