ECU question

Will an ECU from a 95 Camry work on a 96 if all the other things are the same, i.e. auto, cruise, motor, etc.?

I'm at my wits end with my car; I can't figure out why the fuel pump is not getting power, even though I've changed ALL the relays and fuses associated with the fuel system... I'm beginning to think the ECU is blown, but why would it be??

The only ECU that I can get free is one from a 95 Camry...

Please help...

4cyl - ecu won't work
6cyl - ecu might work, but idk

As for the fuel pump, all I can think of is start tracing the power wires back while measuring voltage until you find 12v.

When I have a question like this I go to one of the online vendor's sites and check the part number for each year. If the part number is the same you have your answer.

Get it, plug it in, and see if that works. You said it's free, so what have you got to lose?

Oops, misread and incorrectly assumed this was a 1995.

3. EFI main relay
4. Fuel pump
5. Wiring connections

It does not say check ECU.
1996 changed quite a bit. Jumpering B+ and FP does nothing on that year 5S-FE. I've emailed nevanerviss the fuel pump troubleshooting section from the 1996 FSM for the 5S-FE. I assume I'd get spanked by the mods if I posted it here directly...I've already been spanked for posting direct links to the FSM info on camrystuff.

No, 96 was OBD2.

Also Fed and Cali are different. The part #'s should match.
