4th Generation Access problem for the instrument cluster...

I recently came to own a 97 Camry LE - 2.2 L I4 and have been lurking this site ever since then. However, I am having the hardest time getting to the instrument cluster to start some "mods". The two screws that hold the gauge trim in place will not budge, even when using an assortment of different screwdrivers. I do not know why I am having such a problem, it may be because of the steering wheel and column being in the way, but other than that I do not understand why the screws will not come out.

I am afraid that if I do anymore yanking, I will just strip the screws which means I can never take the gauge trim off. If anyone could help enlighten me to the source of the problem, or possibly a solution, that would be much appreciated.

I did use search to no avail.

I was following this Tutorial, *DIY*--Needle Color Change *56k beware*, and I am having problems removing the two screws above the gauges.

The thread you provided really doesn't describe how to do this. I was wondering if anyone had the same problem/a solution to why these screws won't budge. They are hard to get to and will not loosen.

Phillips screw driver. Use a screwdriver where you are able to put some pressure to it. I took it out w/o any problems.
