Help with Hood lift support for 2000 camry

Hi, I tried to change the gas filled hood lift support on my 2000 camry by pulling the strut out from the hing but it doesn't come out. Can any one help me with this please.

Thanks.

I assume you're trying to remove the top of the thing from the hood?
I had to replace mine last year and it was pretty easy. There should be a square looking piece on the ball part holding the peice in place. Get a flat head screwdriver and pry the square twords you and it should release from the hood.

Sorry I can't be more detailed than that, my memory is kinda fail. =/

I am not sure if it is differnet for a 2000 cos I am having issues pulling that out. I have a 2000 camry. I am not sure if the braces that goes on the struts and hood goes as a set..

I tried doing that Mr. Logan, but it didn't work on a Japanese built 2000 camry. I also think the hydraulic strut and braces come as a set.

I am thinking about that too.
