anyone have the Eibach Prokit lowering springs

I found a guy who is selling a set which was initially for his 95 camry that he sold before he had a chance to put them on. Doesn't come with a box or anything.. just the springs but its only $50!!

yah so does anyone have these? what do you guys think.. too good to be true? are these nice?

anyways.. will i need anything else to install these? I am pretty sure I have monroe sensatrack struts all around with a lifetime warranty.. i know everyone on here prefers either tokico or gytr er sumthing or the other but i cant really afford a new set. will i be okay with these springs on my ride?

too excited to speak anymore, just want to pick them up and dream about installing them next spring

the plot thickens... after a few emails back and forth he is willing to let them go for $40 if i come pick them up tomorrow.

here is the only picture he had up online

description:
"Set of 4 Paid over $350 from eibach. Bought them for my 95 camry then i got rid of the car before i got a chance to install them. They will fit on just about any toyota from the 90's and other similar nissan and honda models. go to eibach.com to check application"

Eibach springs for my 2000 Camry were a bit over $200. Not sure where he got 350 from, unless ones for the 95 are more?

I've heard that using lowering springs with non-"performance" struts will destroy the struts quicker.

Unsure if that's true. Hopefully someone else can comment on that.

$40 sounds like a darn good deal anyway, whether you can install them now or not.

I got them and the ride quality is pretty good. I like the stance that my car has it's not too low but still looks pretty aggressive

hmm didnt think about if they would wear down my current struts faster. anyone have any input on this? at $40 i am most likely going to go pick them up today but am worried now that I will have to replace my struts sooner... which since I don't know how to do myself will end up costing me big in labor

With the money you saved on the springs go get a nice set of KYBs or Tokicos. Install the springs on the strus and then you can do a full swap nice and quickly.

i just looked up prices on eBay.. KYBs are about 250 shipped and Tokicos are about 400 shipped both for a complete set. I am going to have a bunch of time till next spring in which I can save up some money but have 0 knowledge on how to mount these springs to the struts and replace them. all i know is that i will be needing a compressing tool.

i have Monroe Sensa Tracs all around with a lifetime warranty from Sears. i really need some more advice and input on this. I could theoretically save up and buy a new set but would only make sense if I could save the money and install it by myself somehow even though im scared to mess with them.

should i just leave well enough alone?? i really really want a stiffer ride and less bodyroll when i corner

I have the Eibach Pro-Kit springs on mine which I'm very happy with. I didn't spend anywhere near $350 for them brand new. Ask the seller how many miles are the springs. These wear out too, just like any other suspension component. After a few years, they tend to "settle in" and may be prone to cracking as well. Just a heads up.

If you want a stiffer ride, go with the Tokico's. You said you want less body roll, so definitely add the TRD RSB. If you have a little more to spend, go ahead and get a strut bar too. If you don't have a budget, want a stiff/fully adjustable suspension setup, go with coilovers

Although it's possible he could be lying. But based on the picture, THAT one looks new. I doubt you could clean off a spring to new condition with a years worth of use for example.

Didn't see that. I'm still skeptical on the price though

That is a good deal. Make sure they are not ripoff from China

I know that at one time, Tein was seeing lots of fake springs which they crack down on.

  • If your looking for less body roll in the corners you might think about getting yourself a whiteline or trd rear sway bar. I think they run about 175 from Whiteline if I remember corectly. They dramatically reduce body roll in corners and it is an easy diy job. I would suggest having a new set of end links handy along with a grinder. Just in case the old end links decide to "malfunction" due to the genius that decided to use a hex bolt design.
Everything I've heard about the eibach pros is that there great. Ill be throwing a set on my Kyb's this winter or next spring.
Edit: I Just picked some up today. I cant wait to put em on.

i have the 1" drop that i bought from redphoenix (he has a sc400 now), i got them from him for $100 and he had slight use on them.

i just put them on with a set of kyb's hardly notice a drop on 14 year old springs but way stiffer, ride is better than 14 year old setup.
