3rd Generation tranny swap question

i know i can hook the tranny from a 91 gts celica to my motor (94 camry, 5sfe)but will the cables all run ok? i've got an auto that's having some problems, and i guy near my house has a celica gts with a blown motor he's looking to get rid of?

What do you think. Camry motor in the celica or celica tranny in the camry? i'd love to have the celica, but i feel like a tranny swap would be way easier and faster, and it's my daily driver

also, who the heck can point me towards the write ups on this swap. i feel like i've seen 1000 1mz-e153 swaps and two 5sfe-s53 (i think thats the right code).

shift linkages probably need to come from a stick 4cyl camry. and why may i ask are you using the horribly geared S53 in a camry? please enlighten me

because, failing me fixing it with a fluid flush, my tranny is well on its way to toast and a car with a good, yet poorly designed tranny is better than a car with a tranny (automatic) that i have to trick into skipping third gear...do you know what that does to my acceleration?

I'm gonna dump some tranny seafoam in it first then do a full flush of the system and hit the differential as well. if it clears up, i'll be super happy, and might buy the gts anyway as a project. but if it doesn' get better, i've got to have SOME kind of solution
